Step into Double Storey Sunflower with Interior Designers, Nature Concept Design
Take a tour of our latest show home – Sunflower, and be inspired to live in an elegant home nestled in the serene masterplanned township of Bandar Baru Sri Klebang, Ipoh.
Sunflower is a collection of double storey link homes thoughtfully designed with young couples and growing families in mind. Likewise, the interior design of its show home seeks to inspire those who have just started out in life together.
Design director of Nature Concept Design, Billy Chang, whose team was selected by Kinta Properties to dress the Sunflower show home, takes us through the creativity behind it.
“We have directed our interior design goals towards a modern simplicity concept.
“We have employed mother nature’s earthly tones throughout the house, except for the master bedroom, knowing that these nourishing colours provide calm in a hectic lifestyle. If you look around the show home, you’ll find a lot of sand brown and charcoal grey that add warmth and cosiness in an instant.
“We have, however, made sure to contrast these earth tones with lots of white to ensure the house feels bright and spacious,” he said.
Clean, spacious living space
Lines appear to be the unifying theme on the ground floor of the show home. From wood panels, to the ceiling, to the television backdrop, lines add on to the modern and simplicity of the design.
“A linear form creates a clean-cut design whereas the marble wood laminate with bronze glass behind the television gives a high-end finishing to the entire interior design.
“To further emphasise the generous living area of the Sunflower, we decided on an open concept between the living and dining areas although we have added a glass sliding door between the dining area and kitchen for functionality.
“As for the kitchen, darker tone laminates were used for the kitchen cabinets to counterbalance the ample natural sunlight that gets in,” Billy explained, adding that the bedroom downstairs has been designed as a study room cum home office, which can be converted into a bedroom any time with a pullout sofa.
Bedrooms that emanate calm and restfulness
In keeping with the modern concept and use of earth tones, the middle bedroom has sand-coloured walls and a sand brown floor to ceiling cabinet. These are contrasted with white doors, vanity cupboard, bedsheets and coved ceiling.
“I think white and earth tones are not only modern but they also exude a feeling of warmth, calm and restfulness, which are vital for any bedroom,” said Billy.
“As for the children’s bedroom, we decided on pastel colours of salmon pink and cream for the walls and cove ceiling, with a running theme of circles to create a fun atmosphere for little ones. There’s also a play corner in the room.
“Although we are trying to create a fun atmosphere, the focal point of the room, which is a sand brown and hemlock green cartoon mouse partition, is aimed at separating the children at bedtime. We know that children tend to continue playing when they are made to sleep near each other,” he added.
Perhaps, the most special feature of the Sunflower show home is its master bedroom.
“My personal favourite is the master bedroom. It’s so different from the rest of the house with its neo classic design and use of wainscotting paired with blush pink walls. The floor to ceiling built in cupboards, doors and bedsheets are white to make the walls stand out.
“The master bedroom with its quiet reading corner is especially cosy. I should think it’s the bedroom most people wish to spend their nights in and wake up to,” said Billy.
Nature Concept Design is an Ipoh-based design house established since 2009. Billy and his team of designers believe in having passion in everything they do and that design follows function. Nature Concept Design also produces bespoke furniture besides interior fit-out services.
